DR BRONWYN FITZGERALD

Bronwyn Fitzgerald co-founded Hobart Paediatric Group in 2008. She grew up in a small town in rural Victoria, and wanted to be either a kindergarten teacher or a kid’s doctor. Happily plan B worked out! 

She studied medicine through the University of Melbourne, and went on to further study in the speciality of Paediatric Medicine through the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne.  

She is a very experienced paediatrician, enjoying both acute paediatric medicine as well as behavioural and developmental paediatrics. 

Bronwyn has been a Visiting Medical Specialist at the Royal Hobart Hospital for over 10 years. There she looks after children admitted to the hospital paediatric ward, provides outpatient clinics in general paediatrics and paediatric continence as  well as being part of the on call roster.  She is part of the team supporting children with spinal cord injury / disability. Bronwyn is part of the neonatal care team at both Calvary Private Hospital and Hobart Private Hospital.  

Bronwyn loves working with children of all ages, from neonates through to adolescents and participates in both local, national and international peer review and further education.  In the rest of her life, she loves reading, gardens, and mucking about with her family, which includes three kids of her own and a friendly yellow dog.
