How to book

    1. Referral Submission
      Please arrange for your GP to send through a referral to our clinic.

    2. Referral Review and Notification
      Once we have reviewed your referral, you will receive an SMS notification confirming whether it has been accepted. The message will also prompt you to call us to arrange your initial appointment.

    3. Appointment Confirmation and Information
      After your appointment is booked, we will send you important information, including a consent form, details about fees, and the clinic location.

    4. Appointment Reminder and Confirmation
      You will receive an SMS reminder 48 hours prior to your appointment. It is essential that you confirm your attendance; unconfirmed appointments will be cancelled.

    5. Fees and Billing Information
      Please note that we are not a bulk billing practice. Fees are set at the discretion of each practitioner, and full details of any charges will be provided to you before your appointment.

    1. Initial Review After Delivery
      If you are delivering in a private hospital, a paediatrician will review your baby at or shortly after birth, depending on your child’s medical needs.

    2. In-Hospital Care
      The paediatrician will provide care for your baby throughout their hospital stay if required.

    3. Postnatal Follow-Up
      You have the option to arrange a six-week check-up with the same paediatrician to monitor your baby’s progress. Please contact us if you wish to book this appointment.

    4. Ongoing Support
      Should any concerns arise or additional follow-up be needed, we will guide you through the appropriate avenues to ensure continued care.

      Please note that we accept internal referrals only. A referral must be provided by a practitioner within our clinic.

    2. Fees and Billing Information
      We are not a bulk billing practice. Fees are determined at the discretion of each practitioner. Full details regarding costs will be provided prior to your appointment.

      Please call our clinic to request an appointment. Our team will discuss your child’s needs and determine if they meet the clinical criteria for our services.

If your referral is urgent and a review within 1 week is deemed necessary, in addition to sending through a written referral, please phone the Hobart Paediatric Group on 6278 8600 and one of our paediatricians will be happy to discuss this with you. Semi-acute or urgent medical referrals will be triaged and if accepted will be contacted by our reception team to book an initial appointment. If a referral does not meet medically semi-acute criteria it will not be accepted and will be returned for onward referral to other medical services.
